snow is the headline grabber
the big draw
but my eye is taken
by the icicles
the drip drip drip
that turned to ice
and grew
until long bony fingers
hang catching light
and pointing
down at the snow
as if to say
don’t look at these
mere flakes
see how much more
there is to us

Nice poem and nicicles

Thank you Holly – I wanted to be a bit different and seeing as nearly every photo I took that day was of icicles it had to be done! π

I really like the photograph, and the shallow depth of focus to draw attention to the icicle at the front (with that neat reflection) but put it in context with the others.

Welcome. People are always kind enough to comment on things I do that they like, and it’s the least I can do to return the favour.
My mum was very strict about that sort of thing
