We have a Large Red Damselfly visiting our garden now. It seems that our pond is attracting wildlife – hurrah! Sadly this one seems to have a lot of mites attached. I hope they’re not causing it any problems. Other than the mites, it’s a beautiful damsel.
Stunningly beautiful damselfly! It seems to have a bad infestation of parasites, possibly water mites. (Look closely at the underside of its thorax.)
