One of the photography areas that has given me the greatest sense of achievement over recent years is photos of dragonflies. I got my first decent photo of a dragonfly in August last year and since then there are been several more, each of which are big achievements for me. They’re very busy insects, flying around a lot and some types barely stop at all. I love the challenge of trying to creep up on them and get a good shot. Here’s some of my favourites …

Fabulous close-ups of dragonflies, Suzy! … and so many different species too! Dragonflies really can be a challenge to capture on camera – I think they have to be in the mood for having their photo taken 😉
