Garden Singer

As I pottered in the garden yesterday looking at the ice and snow I kept hearing a bird singing beautifully. After a bit of stalking I got close enough to get a shot of this cute little Dunnock singing his heart out 🙂

Lovely. We have dunnocks, but I have never noticed them singing. Maybe when it warms up a bit.

Wonderful – I love the dunnock’s song – we hear them in the gardens nearby.

I think this is a very under-rated bird. The adult has a lovely chestnut brown eye and as you say a quite beautiful song. One of my garden favourites.
