Yarn Doodling

Another thing I enjoy (other than photography & poetry) is crochet. Lately I’ve actually finished a project so I thought I’d share.

I’ve been learning about freeform crochet on Craftsy.com and I’ve really enjoyed it. It’s like doodling but using yarn and a hook instead of pencil and paper. You end up with a unique and creative piece of fabric that you can use to make a bag or a cushion cover or whatever you want. I made a bag and I’m quite pleased with how it turned out 🙂

These photos were just taken with my phone, so apologies for the quality.

The other side of the bag – different obviously as it’s freeform

Obligatory close up number one – the crocheted flower that acts as a button to fasten the bag

I’m currently working on a jumper, and then I have a cardigan to make as well as really wanting to do some more freeform stuff. Lots to do 🙂
