Taking photos from every angle is nothing new to me… it’s pretty standard when you’re creeping up on an insect! It’s all about capturing something without scaring them away so even you don’t get as close as you’d like to, you still have least one shot. Then if they cooperate, you try and get the perfect shot with just the right background.
With this Common Darter Dragonfly I was creeping round so I could get a head-on shot …
First a side-on shot, just in case it flew away:
Then I’m getting the angle more as I’d like it:
Then Mr Common Darter decides to get in on the action and do a little angle-changing of his own! “Are you looking at me?!”

Lovely clear shots.

Super! I know how hard it is to sneak up slowly enough to get photos like this.
