I spend a lot of time anticipating what’s coming next. I do of course enjoy what’s around me right now, but often when walking round the garden or in the countryside I’m looking for signs of what’s coming next. Waiting for buds to bloom or leaves to change.
In the winter I’m waiting for signs of spring, like snowdrops and crocuses.
In the spring I’m waiting for signs of summer, like damselflies, grasshoppers, summer flowers & bees.
And as summer starts to draw to a close, I’m waiting for the leaves to change colour, and evenings to get darker.
Later in the year I’ll be waiting for the first frosts, waiting for Christmas, waiting for snow … and then it all begins again!

Suzy, the markers in time you share to show your sense of anticipation are very similar to the ones that touch my life as well. Loved the photo story you told.
