We have an old wheelbarrow with a broken wheel. It was no good to anyone so we were thinking it needed to go to the tip. But Bruce had a bright idea to turn it into something beautiful…
So Bruce drilled some holes, me and my daughter did some shopping, and between us we made the wheelbarrow useful again 🙂
We’re pretty chuffed with how it turned out 🙂
It contains 9 plants… some of which I have photos of:
- A Pink – Dianthus ‘Tickled Pink’
- 2 Salvias – Salvia nemorosa ‘New Dimension Rose’ and Salvia x sylvestris ‘Blue Queen’
- Jacob’s Ladder – Polemonium ‘Bressingham Purple’
- Lemon Thyme – Thymus x citriodorus
- 2 Lavenders – Lavandula angustifolia Munstead and Lavandula stoechas Papillon (French Lavender)
- Lemon Balm – Melissa officinalis Variegata
- Garlic – Allium satiyum (this one is specially for Bruce as he likes his garlic!)
It’s lovely to look at and smells lovely too 🙂 Enjoy some photos…

Ah…I did something similar….but the bunnies ate several of the plants…so doesn’t look as lovely as yours. 🙂

If rabbits are a problem, plant begonias among the rest. For some reason bunnies hate begonias.

I’ve done this with a wheelbarrow, and with a cast iron pot bellied barbecue. Oh, and some Victorian ceramic water main pipes.

Looks wonderful and I can just imagine how beautiful it smells! Love lemonbalm! It makes a great tea for calming overexcited minds and jittery bodies
