The weather has finally changed, and I’m glad to have rain. My pond needs it, the garden needs it, and all farmers and owners of grazing animals need it! It’s unusual in the UK to have had such a prolonged spell of dry, hot weather. Now that the rain has come, it’s harder to take photos of course, but I think it’s worth it.
These photos are from Wednesday when I was happy to find a Small Copper butterfly was visiting the garden. It spent ages visiting every floret of the Hemp Agrimony and while it was busy feeding it didn’t seem to mind me taking photos from every angle 🙂 I’d forgotten quite how small they are compared to the regulars like the Peacock or Small Tortoiseshell.
So beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

Such a lovely butterfly, I’ve not seen many this year. Love photo 2.
