There were many hoverflies visiting my Purple Loosestrife today, it seemed to be very popular. I was taking photos and seem to have unintentionally captured the hoverflies in romantic soft focus. This was mainly because it was quite cloudy so I had my aperture very wide, leading to this very shallow depth of field. I rather like this romantic look, especially with the pinky-purple colours of the Loosestrife.
Lovely shots Suzy, always difficult to get DoF in poor light.

A hoverfly once gave me the inspiration for a short story. https://nobodysreadingme.wordpress.com/2013/11/01/hoverfly-tipsylit-prompt-risk/

Hi Suzy, lovely photos, as usual. I have a question for you. How do you put your name on the photos? I could do it, but is there a simple way to do this?
Thanks

I use Lightroom and add the watermark when I export them. You have to make the watermark separately using something like Photoshop or Gimp. Once you’re set up it’s then easy to pop the watermark on all the photos each time you export them

Thank you. I will have a go. I’m dreading taking them all down and reposting but I guess I should really.
