This week I have been continuing to work on my squares for the Kaleidoscope Blanket CAL. So far I have 13. I’m working towards a total of 36. I don’t think I’ll have all 36 done by the time the next part of the CAL comes out (17th) but that really doesn’t matter. I’m thinking I’ll just continue with the squares until they’re finished and then move on to part 2. I did consider doing part 2 and then coming back to the squares, but I think it will go better if I stick with them as the pattern is now ingrained, rather than learning a new pattern then having to relearn this one. Sometimes you can get stressed and impatient when you are getting behind with a CAL, but it’s important to remember it’s not a race. The point of a CAL is not necessarily to all be crocheting exactly together, but all doing the same overall pattern, so people can learn from each other and enjoy the community of all working towards the same goal.

Last night I finished square number 13. Hopefully I’ll get a few more done today and tomorrow. Time is limited during the week as I’m in work all day, so in theory I should get more done on weekends, although there tends to be a lot of other things I want/need to get done on the weekend!
I mentioned last week that we were working on some better storage in our living room. Here are some photos taken after I’d finally finished tidying and organising things:

You might notice that there are 2 on the end that have no lids. This is because we were going for a different layout than the cubes were designed for. I hadn’t really thought about that, but it’s not a big problem as those 2 can overflow slightly if necessary and we had fabric cubes already that fit into them. While sorting this all out I realised I have a LOT of yarn! I really must try to use it up rather than keeping on buying more. Hmm, we’ll see how that goes!
One more picture to show the addition of some cute frogs my Mum got me for Christmas:

Looks great 🙂
