Back in February 2016 I bought myself an Orchid. I didn’t have a great track record of keeping plants alive at that point, but I decided I would enjoy the flowers and see if I could keep it going. Back then, I didn’t know that in the future I would still be enjoying this lovely plant! Today 4 years later, I have enjoyed photographing the Orchid’s first flower to bloom this year. Perhaps there is something to learn in this story – I doubted I’d keep the plant alive, but I should have had more faith in myself, and more hope … as in fact it survived and seems to be very happy. I’ve re-potted it today and hopefully we’ll have many more years of beautiful flowers.

Looks like I didn’t photograph my Orchid in 2018 or 2019 even though it was still going strong!
Here it is today:

Inspired by the Lens-Artists weekly photography challenge: future, as well by my persistent and beautiful Orchid!
“… I should have had more faith in myself, and more hope …” A conclusion worthy of remembering – thank you, Suzy. I do recognize myself in that… And an exquisite orchid you have! Now you can look at the future with faithful eyes – here’s to you and your lovely orchid ♥

Have never had a single second growth on an orchid. Finally gave up and bought a really good fake one. So far it’s still blooming LOL. Lovely images.
