A glimpse into my world

A Glimpse into your world. Show us the things you love that makes your world spin or things about your world that make you delirious with joy.

Sheetalbravon, Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #135

I love nature, I love photography… bring the two together and the joy doubles 🙂 Capturing the moment, getting eyes in focus, recording the seasons, being in awe of the beauty all around me, it is definitely a joyful thing.

Black Darter (female)
A dragonfly pausing and looking into my camera lens, observing me observing her, allowing me a moment to capture her likeness.
Very friendly Black Darter dragonfly (m)
A gasp as a dragon considers my hand a suitable landing place
Beautiful Demoiselles mating
Managing to capture the moment when Beautiful Demoiselles form themselves into a beautiful heart
Green Hairstreak Butterfly
Arriving at the usual patch, and finding the Green Hairstreaks are there again, as hoped
Wood Anemone
Checking in the woods in spring and finding the Wood Anemones carpeting the ground
Common Lizard
Holding your breath, so as not to scare a lizard away
Tiny Solitary Bee
Capturing the details of a solitary bee’s eyes

And of course a glimpse into my world wouldn’t be complete without some crochet too! Crochet brings a different kind of joy, a slow contentment, a sense of wonder at the transformation from ball of yarn to garment or blanket, and the pleasure of wearing (or gifting) the results.

Finished rainbow socks
Finished Diamonds Not Pearls jumper … but with a lot of ends to sew in still! Will do shots of me actually wearing it when the ends are done.
The beginnings of a new project which involves a double ended circular crochet hook, and 2 balls of yarn at once! It’s Tunisian crochet in the round, very new to me.

  1. Suzy, the thing I loved the most about your post were its vivid colours, the natural greens dazzled me and the picture of the insects forming a heart was a winner. Also looking at your crocheted items, I cannot help but admire your skill with the hook. Many years ago, I crocheted a blanket and I enjoyed the activity. I’m inspired to pick it up again. Wonderful post, Suzy. Thank you for sharing it with us.
