A new flower to arrive this spring is the celandine which is now brightening up all the grassy banks and hedges. They’re like little yellow stars, or splashes of sunshine 🙂
This was taken back in August last year and it’s one of those photos I like because its a bit different. Somehow the flower looks painted, even though it’s just a straight photo with no effects.
The daffodils in the garden have flowered at last – they seemed a bit behind some of the others around and about, but they got there in the end. Most of these shots were taken from lying on the path to get a nice close angle! Feels like spring is properly here, although the weather…… Continue reading Daffodils
Since spotting that first golden crocus, more have shot up and Bruce showed me a couple of patches he’d found just up the hill in our village. So I couldn’t help but take some more shots. I also spotted some tucked in the shade of a hedge so they’re a little bit further behind and…… Continue reading More Crocuses
I haven’t taken any new shots lately – I’ve been spending most of the last few days in bed or on the sofa feeling pretty yucky with some kind of lurgy – maybe the flu. Feeling a bit better today so I’m posting a photo, but it’s an old one, from last spring. If you…… Continue reading The Humble Daisy
Today I was happy to get my first crocus shot this year 🙂 We had a stroll round the village and I was on the look out for spring flowers, particularly wanting to find a crocus… I’d just about given up on finding one when I realised this one was there, on the grassy bank…… Continue reading First Crocus
Another flower from our bunch today – these are alstroemeria.
As you’ll know, if you read Bruce’s blog, I brought some flowers home the other day so that we would have something to photograph while it rains continuously (it seems!). Bouquets of flowers can be ridiculously expensive, so I shopped with care and found 2 little bunches with a nice variety of flowers in for…… Continue reading Gerberas
These photos are from back in August. I came upon this flower while wandering around a castle filled with many many tourists. I felt slightly silly stopping and squatting taking macro shots while everyone else was busy looking at castle walls and cannons, but that’s just the way I am! I believe it is an…… Continue reading Heart of Gold
Some of my favourite things to photograph are flowers, and of course I like to get up close and personal with them. At this time of year there are not many flowers out there so I’m delving through my photos from through the year. These two are from back in June. I like the softness…… Continue reading Softest Pink
