Autumn by the river

As I mentioned, last weekend I took a long walk through the woods down by the river. It was beautiful! I’m glad I went then because this weekend is mostly grey and damp and we’ve had a lot of wind during the week which will have stripped of some of these lovely leaves. The onlyContinue reading “Autumn by the river”

Tiny Mushrooms

On a walk in the woods last weekend, I found some tiny little mushrooms (and some bigger ones). It was beautiful in the woods with all the autumn colour. I must post some of the photos of the autumn trees soon. Meanwhile, the tiny mushrooms – enjoy 🙂 Inspired by the Weekly Photo Challenge: Tiny.

Beech Transformation

The Weekly Photo Challenge this week is ‘Transmogrify’. What a word! This is what it means: transmogrify /tranzˈmɒɡrɪfʌɪ,trɑːnz-,-ns-/ verb humorous transform in a surprising or magical manner. “his home was transmogrified into a hippy crash pad” Well, in nature things shouldn’t be that surprising as they happen on a regular basis, but it still thrillsContinue reading “Beech Transformation”

Autumn in the Village

Most of what I include in my blog would fit the Weekly Photo Challenge this week: Local. I don’t often venture very far, mainly taking photos around my village, and occasionally a few miles away in Cors Caron. So it’s all very much local. What is going in on my local area at the momentContinue reading “Autumn in the Village”

Transition in Season and Focus

The season is changing and festivities are beginning. We are transitioning betweenContinue reading “Transition in Season and Focus”

November Treats

I had a double treat today! The sun came out – treat number one – and I had a lovely, surprisingly warm walk round the village. And treat number two was a dragonfly! I thought they were all gone for the year, but I guess the unusually warm day brought one out again. So hereContinue reading “November Treats”

Ordinary Leaves

The weekly photo challenge is looking at finding the extraordinary in the ordinary. I was thinking about the things we look beyond, and in nature, I’m often looking at the flowers, or the insects and don’t take much notice of the leaves. However at this time of year they’re especially interesting and worth a look,Continue reading “Ordinary Leaves”

Fresh Spring Goodness

I was lucky enough to have a brief moment of evening sunshine when I got home from work yesterday so I nipped out around the garden for a few minutes before the sun went down. I was happy to find some new fresh spring flowers popping up 🙂 This post was (loosely) inspired by theContinue reading “Fresh Spring Goodness”
