I love it when Cuckooflower season comes around. I love their delicate pink, and the beautiful veined petals, and the contrast with the green of their stamens and stigma (the bits in the middle of the flower). If you want to see more photos, take a look at the Cuckooflower page in the wildflower section…… Continue reading Cuckoo
I got my first butterfly photo of the year at the weekend. There were 3 Peacock butterflies in the garden and I was lucky enough to have this one pose for me after I’d run and got my camera! Such a beautiful butterfly, possibly underappreciated because it’s quite common.
Back in February 2016 I bought myself an Orchid. I didn’t have a great track record of keeping plants alive at that point, but I decided I would enjoy the flowers and see if I could keep it going. Back then, I didn’t know that in the future I would still be enjoying this lovely…… Continue reading Future Flowers
My favourite spring flower has popped up in my garden and I am delighted to see it! I didn’t even have to walk down to the field, it is right here outside my front door 🙂 Happy April!
Yesterday my daughter and I went to Dyfed Shire Horse Farm again and had a lovely time. The Shire horses are so big but so gentle and sweet natured. Even with something so big it can be worth looking closer, and I enjoyed getting some photos of their beautiful eyes as well as stepping back…… Continue reading Gentle Giants

At the end of March I started this CAL (Crochet-a-long) to make this gorgeous blanket. Just over 7 weeks later it was finished. It was a labour of love, and came out absolutely gorgeous! Finished blanket: And here are some in progress shots:
As I mentioned, last weekend I took a long walk through the woods down by the river. It was beautiful! I’m glad I went then because this weekend is mostly grey and damp and we’ve had a lot of wind during the week which will have stripped of some of these lovely leaves. The only…… Continue reading Autumn by the river
No, I’m not accidentally repeating myself – this damselfly is called a ‘Beautiful Demoiselle’ and they truly are beautiful … so we have some beautiful Beautiful Demoiselles 😀 I just love these shots of this female Demoiselle – she was just resting there on the grass near the edge of the stream, and the sun…… Continue reading Beautiful Beautiful Demoiselles
I went for a walk with my daughter the other day. I didn’t find much to photograph so pointed my camera at her instead! We just caught the last of the sunlight so there was a lovely warm glow. I softened the image to emphasise the glow, and I think it came out well. My…… Continue reading Soft Portrait
