No, I’m not accidentally repeating myself – this damselfly is called a ‘Beautiful Demoiselle’ and they truly are beautiful … so we have some beautiful Beautiful Demoiselles 😀 I just love these shots of this female Demoiselle – she was just resting there on the grass near the edge of the stream, and the sun…… Continue reading Beautiful Beautiful Demoiselles
Spring flowers are popping up all over The Upper Gardens in Bournemouth. Many are delicate whites, hanging their heads shyly, with their faces to the ground. An array of lovely delicate spring blooms 🙂
I promised you squirrels and here they are! Yesterday my children were providing the squirrels with a delightful buffet of hazelnuts – all they had to do was be brave enough to come and get one from their hands. For most of the squirrels down by the seafront in Bournemouth Gardens, this was not problem…… Continue reading Squirrel Buffet
Today I have been mostly taking photos of squirrels … However, before I subject you to an onslaught of more squirrel photos, I thought I’d give you a break with some assorted bird-life of Bournemouth.
I spotted this squirrel today on a walk in Bournemouth. It was enjoying a snack of willow buds. Here he is watching me watching him!

He was pretty tame but being terrorised by pigeons which we got rather cross with! He…… Continue reading Squirrelling
I’m in Bournemouth at the moment visiting my sister. She lives right next to the Gardens so it’s easy to pop out for a walk and see what I can find 🙂 Today I popped out for a short walk to see if there would be any Demoiselles. I took some photos of them last…… Continue reading Beautiful Demoiselle
There hasn’t been a lot of macro going on here lately has there? Although I have been using the macro lens for various wildlife instead! But today I bring you some macro shots I took in Bournemouth before I got so excited about the squirrels, ducks, gulls and pigeons 🙂 It was a damp morning,…… Continue reading Macro Droplet Heaven
Some more ducks today – again taken at Coy Pond during my visit to Bournemouth. I was pleased to catch some water droplets on the lady duck in these shots – she’d been diving under the water and I was trying to get shots as she was surfacing. And I love the colour of the…… Continue reading Ducks & Drakes
