Yesterday we had a bit of a roadtrip, visiting a few places in north Wales. One place where we stopped and took photos was Tywyn, where we had a wander up and down the seafront. It didn’t feel very summery as it was very windy and chilly. I was wrapped up in jumper and coat…… Continue reading Black & White Seaside
This spring business is pretty good fun isn’t it?! I’m glad it finally decided to arrive. Yesterday we went for a walk on the beach and I was looking for some new spring growth and was delighted to find the Sea Pinks (or Thrift) are starting to flower. These were one of the first flowers…… Continue reading Sea Pinks
We went for a little trip to Aberaeron yesterday – a town down the coast road from Aberystwyth – and enjoyed a sunny (but windswept) walk by the sea around the harbour. After taking the photos I posted on Saturday the weather turned cloudier so the next few shots (at a different beach) came out kind of moody, so I decided they suited monochrome better than colour, as to be honest there was barely any colour in them!
If you’re a reader of my poetry blog you may have seen my poem yesterday with the same title as this post. I’d been playing with my blog theme and had put in a nice summery beach photo as the header, which set me off dreaming of summer. I thought I’d continue with that theme…… Continue reading Dreaming of Summer
A photo I dug out of my back catalogue recently as an illustration for a poem called Taking Flight over on my other blog. This is a view from a local beach back in more summery days.
let’s take flight leave that town behind that town that drags you under we’ll swirl and spin and leap and soar o’er rolling hills and craggy slopes and boulder’d rocky pebblesome beaches swooping down o’er breaking waves feeling salt spray on our faces then higher higher higher up ’til we skip o’er cloudy billows boiling…… Continue reading taking flight
