My favourite spring flower has popped up in my garden and I am delighted to see it! I didn’t even have to walk down to the field, it is right here outside my front door 🙂 Happy April!
Primrose yellow is such a gentle, delicate kind of yellow. While the Daffodils, Dandelions and Forsythia are proclaiming the start of spring with their bright sunshine yellow, the primrose is more subtle with its approach. And when adorned with shining raindrops, the picture is complete. These Primroses are in my garden. I’m hoping to haveContinue reading “Delicate Primrose Yellow”
I stepped outside with my camera. I hadn’t realised it had been so long – the last photos I took were on 11th November! There was not much to see in the garden but I found a few things to capture.
My Beech tree is changing colour beautifully although there’s a long way to go until all the green is gone. The changed leaves look lovely and golden brown in the sun 🙂 Inspired by the Lens Artists Photo Challenge: Changing or changeable I just discovered this new photo challenge (even though it has been goingContinue reading “Beech”
Reminding myself that beauty is everywhere. You don’t have to go far to find some. These lovely droplets were on the chives growing in the garden.
There were many hoverflies visiting my Purple Loosestrife today, it seemed to be very popular. I was taking photos and seem to have unintentionally captured the hoverflies in romantic soft focus. This was mainly because it was quite cloudy so I had my aperture very wide, leading to this very shallow depth of field. IContinue reading “Unintentionally Romantic Hoverflies”
Last weekend I bought myself an Anemone plant. It was already flowering with lots of buds so I was excited to get it into the ground. Since then it has rained a lot and when I went out to take photos of them yesterday, they were looking a bit battered. The ground beneath was strewnContinue reading “Imperfect Perfection”
No, not the sweets, but the flowers. I have some in my garden and every time I go out with my camera I seem to take yet another photo of them. I am obsessed with getting the curly stamens in focus. Lately they have been mostly bedecked with raindrops. Please enjoy my Marsh Mallow flowers,Continue reading “Marsh Mallow”
Today contained a fair bit of pain and bone-tiredness, but it also contained moments of joy. One of these was looking at plants with my daughter in a shop in town. We walked out into the outside area where the plants are and pretty much the first thing I saw was an Anemone! Just theContinue reading “Anemone”
Yesterday’s tiny caterpillar wasn’t the only creature spotted at Compton Acres. There sadly weren’t any dragonflies or damselflies around, probably because it was a little cooler and not their ideal conditions, but there were other creatures to be found. First this Hoverfly who seems to be rubbing its hands (legs) in glee about something, likeContinue reading “Creatures of Compton Acres”
