I went for a lovely little Christmas Eve walk today, and one of the main things that caught my eye was the gorse. It’s one of the few things in flower at the moment and it’s brightening up the village. It’s so nice to have a bit of sunshine today after several days of rain and cloud. It’s pretty cold though.
In response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Yellow.”
This is a photo from Friday’s walk around the village. I love how fuzzy this Gorse is. It reminds me of a silly rhyme we used to say when I was young … “Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear, Fuzzy Wuzzy had no hair, Fuzzy Wuzzy wasn’t fuzzy was he?” 🙂 In this case, though, the Gorse really is fuzzy and has lots of little hairs.
I got out for a walk this morning! Yay! The sun was shining when I started but there were a couple of showers while I was out so I had to hide my camera in a plastic bag temporarily. I wonder if there is a better option for a quick cover up. Anyway I was out looking at the Snowdrops and Crocuses and on the way I stopped to look at the Gorse. Most of the bush was in shadow, but this flower stuck out into the sunshine, and it looked like it was in the spotlight 🙂 I was pleased how it came out, and the dark background was a happy accident that makes it really stand out.

I’ve been busy the last few days with Christmassy things, so I’ll belatedly say Merry Christmas to all my followers now 🙂 Hope you have been having a lovely time. The photo today is one taken at my Mum & Dad’s a few days back of the lovely Gorse in their garden which was all wet with raindrops.
Sometimes when I look through the mounds of photos I’ve taken, I find nothing that grabs me and I’m a bit sad that none of them were as good as I hoped. Other times, like today, I am luckier 😀 I am so pleased with this photo of some rather soggy gorse! A good photo makes me very happy 🙂
