Inspired

It felt impossible to sum up my inspirations in one single photo, so I made a image based on one of my favourite photos that I’ve taken, with extra layers of inspiration added to it. I am inspired by nature, music, poetry and love 🙂 ❤

Had I the heaven’s embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light;
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

W. B. Yeats

Some music to listen to while you read the words…

gifts

these gifts
that you give me
each day
without thinking
these gifts are
more precious
than any gift gone by
your time
your love
your care
and concern
bringing
laughter and kisses

you ease my troubles
that’s what you do

drum beat

the drum beat
pulses through my veins
louder than my blood
throbbing
building
from gentle heartbeat
to crashing crescendo
and my body moves
automatically
responding
from a place deep within
responding
to the irresistible rhythm
and I dance
eyes closed
lost in the moment
of bliss

broken

as I hold you close
nose nestled in your hair
I swell with ancient love
and want to wrap myself round you
and gather you to my soul
beyond all words and explanations
this knowledge that you,
scarred and broken as you are,
are precisely the right shape
to fill this hole in me

Inspired by love, and also by Rihanna – Stay:

Not really sure how to feel about it
Something in the way you move
Makes me feel like I can’t live without you
It takes me all the way
I want you to stay

Ohhh the reason I hold on
Ohhh cause I need this hole gone
Funny you’re the broken one but I’m the only one who needed saving
Cause when you never see the lights it’s hard to know which one of us is caving

Not giving in

This song has been stuck in my head today and has become a kind of mantra against the dark and gloomy mood I’m falling into … “this time I’m gonna be stronger, I’m not giving in”. As it was stuck in my head I went to YouTube to find it and discovered that it has a very inspiring and humbling video with it – sad but hopeful – 2 different choices made by these young lads with one ending up in joy with dancing but the other ending up dead on the street. Reminds me how lucky I am and how much I should fight against sinking into the darkness. Anyway, enough rambling on – please watch the video.

Beneath your Beautiful

Beneath your Beautiful – Labrinth, featuring Emeli Sande

This has been stuck in my head off and on for quite some time now, so it’s about time I put it on my blog. It is a beautiful song, which I can relate to…

And the words released:

You tell all the boys no
Makes you feel good, yeah
I know you’re out of my league
But that won’t scare me away, oh, no
You’ve carried on so long
You couldn’t stop if you tried it
You’ve built your wall so high
That no one could climb it
But I’m gonna try

Would you let me see beneath your beautiful
Would you let me see beneath your perfect
Take it off now girl, take it off now girl
I wanna see inside
Would you let me see beneath your beautiful tonight

You let all the girls go
Makes you feel good, don’t it?
Behind your Broadway show
I heard a voice say please don’t hurt me
You’ve carried on so long
You couldn’t stop if you tried it
You’ve built your wall so high
That no one could climb it
But I’m gonna try

Would you let me see beneath your beautiful
Would you let me see beneath your perfect
Take it off now boy, take it off now boy
I wanna see inside
Would you let me see beneath your beautiful tonight
Oh, tonight

See beneath, see beneath,
I… Tonight
I…

I’m gonna climb on top your ivory tower
I’ll hold your hand and then we’ll jump right out
We’ll be falling, falling
But that’s okay
Cause I’ll be right here
I just wanna know

Would you let me see beneath your beautiful
Would you let me see beneath your perfect
Take it off now girl, take it off now girl
Cause I wanna see inside
Would you let me see beneath your beautiful tonight
Tonight, see beneath your beautiful
Oh tonight, we ain’t perfect, we ain’t perfect
Would you let me see beneath your beautiful tonight

Come What May

Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman – Come What May, from Moulin Rouge

Possibly one of the most tragically romantic musical moments ever in films … well films that I’ve seen anyway (she dies … shhhh). Love this.

The words released …

Never knew I could feel like this
Like I’ve never seen the sky before
I want to vanish inside your kiss
Every day I love you more and more

Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place
Suddenly it moves with such a perfect grace
Suddenly my life doesn’t seem such a waste
It all revolves around you

And there’s no mountain too high
No river too wide
Sing out this song and I’ll be there by your side
Storm clouds may gather
And stars may collide
But I love you, I love you
I love you until the end of time

Come what may
Come what may
I will love you until my dying day

wordspill and music

tonight’s a night for wordspill and music
only things I have of value
when everything else is doubt and uselessness is my refrain
I have these pages blank
with words and music running through my veins
nothing that can stop them as they flow
swooping around me in a waterfall of letters and notes
my head spins, my mind tumbles
the hurts inflicted on you cut my skin
your pain is my pain
it’s harsh and cold
and it’s breaking my heart
you lose yourself in your way
I’ll be right beside you dear
ready to catch you when you fall

Flaws

Flaws – Bastille

This song came on the radio and I just stopped. Well not literally as I was driving, but my mind and soul and heart stopped. This is so close to what I want to say. They stole my words. The only thing missing is that after picking ourselves undone, we will restitch ourselves together, and fill the holes in each-other’s souls. Flaws not removed, but lovingly known and named, and accepted.

And, of course, the words released:

When all of your flaws and all of my flaws
Are laid out one by one
A wonderful part of the mess that we made
We pick ourselves undone

All of your flaws and all of my flaws
They lie there hand in hand
Ones we’ve inherited, ones that we learned
They pass from man to man

There’s a hole in my soul
I can’t fill it I can’t fill it
There’s a hole in my soul
Can you fill it? Can you fill it?

You have always worn your flaws upon your sleeve
And I have always buried them deep beneath the ground
Dig them up, let’s finish what we’ve started
Dig them up, so nothing’s left unturned

All of your flaws and all of my flaws,
When they have been exhumed
We’ll see that we need them to be who we are
Without them we’d be doomed

There’s a hole in my soul
I can’t fill it I can’t fill it
There’s a hole in my soul
Can you fill it? Can you fill it?

You have always worn your flaws upon your sleeve
And I have always buried them deep beneath the ground
Dig them up, let’s finish what we’ve started
Dig them up, so nothing’s left unturned

Oooooh
Oooooh

When all of your flaws
And all of my flaws are counted
When all of your flaws
And all of my flaws are counted

You have always worn your flaws upon your sleeve
And I have always buried them deep beneath the ground
Dig them up, Let’s finish what we’ve started
Dig them up, So nothing’s left unturned

Oooooh
Oooooh

All of your flaws and all of my flaws
Are laid out one by one
Look at the wonderful mess that we made
We pick ourselves undone

Juxtaposition

Juxtaposition
Tennyson, Damien Rice
It somehow just works

Quill spilt to CD
Both bleeding ink and passion
I lay back, absorbed

The Blower’s Daughter
Now sleeps the crimson petal
And be lost in me
