2020 Favourites

This week’s Lens-Artists Photo Challenge is about our favourite images from 2020. I’ve already posted about the photos/posts that were most popular among my readers, but now it’s my turn to look back at the year and think about my own personal favourites. Way back in January 2020, the light was just gorgeous on these…… Continue reading 2020 Favourites

Things I like to do…

If you’re a regular reader you will know what my main three pastimes are … observing nature, taking photos & creating things with crochet. Observing nature, and taking photos often goes hand in hand, although I do occasionally take photos of other things! These are a few photos my sister has taken of me through…… Continue reading Things I like to do…

Wildlife Welcome

I like to try and live in harmony with nature. Even if I was able to work hard getting my garden all perfect and neat, I don't think I would want to. What I really want is a bit of the wild countryside that's easier to access being right outside my door. I want to… Continue reading Wildlife Welcome

Shy Creatures and Crochet

I went for a walk yesterday and as usual spent some time by the village pond. I chased a dragon for quite some time, hindered by a local kitten that insisted on wrapping itself around my legs at inopportune moments! I was a little disappointed to only get a couple of shots, but when I…… Continue reading Shy Creatures and Crochet

Ragged Ragged Robin

Last weekend I noticed this Ragged Robin (Lychnis flos-cuculi), the first one that I’d seen this year. It looked a bit more ragged than normal but despite its tatters it is still beautiful. And the rain-covered grass glistening in the sun made some lovely bokeh to help it to sparkle. I presume some small creature enjoyed…… Continue reading Ragged Ragged Robin

wild

I will dutifully stride back and forth gobbling up the grass and spitting it out in clumps I will trim and shape my hedges slicing and shearing making order from chaos these are my tokens my gestures toward uniformity but within my territory between these green barricades this is my meadow my bliss of nature…… Continue reading wild
